چکیده

Building smart environments with robotic ecologies made up of distributed sensors, actuators and mobile robot devices extends the type of applications that can be considered, and reduces the complexity and cost of such solutions. While the potentials of such an approach makes robotic ecologies increasingly popular, many fundamental research questions remain open. One such question is how to make a robotic ecology self-adaptive, so as to adapt to changing conditions and evolving requirements, and consequently reduce the amount of preparation and pre-programming required for their deployment in real world applications. In this paper we present a framework for integrating an agent programming system with the traditional robotic and middleware approach to the development of robotic ecologies. We illustrate how these approaches can complement each other and how they provide an avenue where to pursue adaptive robotic ecologies.

Voltage Coordination of FACTS Devices in Power Systems Using RL-Based Multi-Agent Systems

This paper describes how multi-agent system technology can be used as the underpinning platform for voltage control in power systems. In this study, some FACTS (flexible AC transmission systems) devices are properly designed to coordinate their decisions and actions in order to provide a coordinated secondary voltage control mechanism based on multi-agent theory. Each device here is modeled as ...

Robotic UBIquitous COgnitive Network

Robotic ecologies are networks of heterogeneous robotic devices pervasively embedded in everyday environments, where they cooperate to perform complex tasks. While their potential makes them increasingly popular, one fundamental problem is how to make them self-adaptive, so as to reduce the amount of preparation, pre-programming and human supervision that they require in real world applications...

Coordination in multi-agent autonomous cognitive robotic systems

Coordination among multiple robots has been extensively studied in the past years, since a number of practical tasks can be performed in a much more effective way by employing a fleet of coordinated robotic bases. In particular, distributed coordination among robotic soccer agents has been considered in the recent years within the framework offered by the RoboCup competitions, mostly in the sim...

A BI-LEVEL LINEAR MULTI-OBJECTIVE DECISION MAKING MODEL WITH INTERVAL COEFFICIENTS FOR SUPPLY CHAIN COORDINATION

Bi-level programming, a tool for modeling decentralized decisions, consists of the objective(s) of the leader at its first level and that is of the follower at the second level. Three level programming results when second level is itself a bi-level programming. By extending this idea it is possible to define multi-level programs with any number of levels. Supply chain planning problems are co...
